Support
Most questions about this app are answerable only by looking at your own settings, so when you write, say what you sell and what you were doing. That is usually the whole answer.
Setting up your first box
Three questions, in the app's own walkthrough. It opens by itself on a shop with no boxes, and there is a Set a box up step by step button to open it again afterwards.
- Start with a shape. Pick one of the ready-made boxes and change whatever you like. Every name, price and step is yours afterwards.
- What goes in the box. Tick the categories customers may fill it from. Leave them all clear to offer everything you sell.
- How it looks. A starting point for the colours and corners — or write your own CSS further down the tab.
Then switch the box on, press Save, and publish your site. A new box arrives switched on, so usually there is nothing to switch.
Putting it on your site
Two ways, and you can use both:
- On a page of its own. Drag the Build Your Own Box element onto any page in the Wix Editor. This is the one to choose if you sell more than one kind of box.
- On a product page. Point the box at one of your products, and it replaces that product's Add to basket button. Every other product page is left alone.
If you want customers to be able to reopen a box from the basket, the box needs a page of its own — a builder that lives only on a product page has nowhere to send them back to, so the link stays away rather than losing their box.
Nothing is appearing on my site
In the order worth checking:
- Is the box switched on? The toggle is at the top of its card, and it should read Live.
- Did you press Save, and then publish? Saving keeps the box; publishing is what puts it on the site.
- Is the element on a page? Dragging it on is done once, in the Editor, and is easy to forget.
- Has the site caught up? A published site can sit a little behind. Give it a minute and reload.
Still nothing? Turn on diagnostics in the app's Settings tab. A line then appears under the builder on your own site saying exactly what it decided and why. Send us that line — it usually answers the question on its own.
It says my site needs a CMS
Packhouse Build keeps your boxes and settings in your own site's CMS rather than on our servers, and a Wix site does not always have one yet. The app cannot add it for you: one app is not allowed to install another.
The panel that tells you this has a button that opens Wix's own installer. Failing that, open your site in the Wix Editor, click CMS down the left-hand side, and press Add to Site. It is free, it takes a moment, and you never need to open it again.
Stock, and what the app moves
A built box reaches your order as one line, and Wix does not know what is inside it — so without help, selling a box of twelve would leave all twelve still showing as in stock.
Packhouse Build takes the contents off the shelf itself when a box sells, and puts them back if the order is cancelled. It is not a stock system: it knows about the boxes it sold, and nothing about a tray you dropped.
A data request from one of your customers
You can answer it without us. What the app records about an order is in your own CMS and on the order itself, and you can read and delete it yourself. If you are not sure where to look, write to us and we will tell you — we cannot fetch it for you, because we cannot see it.
